Dad WAS going to work today. He talked with a guy at work and figured out how to take the vanpool. He was to meet the van and leave at 5:50am which meant he had to get up at 4:30 to get ready. We drove to where he told us to and Dad got all set - backpack on, crutches out to hobble to the van, etc, etc, then he grabbed his chest, realizing he didn't have his magic ID badge on. Oh, well.

We waited and waited, then squinted in the dark to watch the van pull out of the hidden-by-the-trees-in-the-dark Church half a block away.

Crap - now I had to drive him to work.

We finally got to slow-moving Bangerter and drove and drove and drove.

At last, almost there, Dad says in this querying voice "Are my crutches in the back?" NO, OF COURSE THEY WEREN'T.....We Had Left Them In The Field Where We Waited For The Vanpool!
